Course Description 

This course is aimed at anyone who may during their works will be required to carry out risk assessments and produce Method statements.

Aimed at Supervisors and managers.

The course covers the general legal requirements to provide an assessment for any works or processes being carried, how to identify hazards and the risk posed, how to produce a viable risk assessment and implement any identified controls.

The second part of the course covers how to produce a method statement based on the previously carried out Risk assessment, how to amplify the information into easily understood working. Document.

Candidates will be expected to carry out practical written examples and will compile a working document as part of the course work.

Aims

To ensure delegates have a broad understanding of the current HASAW ACT 1974, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

The need to pre plan works and carry out a risk assessment and identify any control measures, how to amplify the information within the Risk Assesment into a usable safe system of work (RAMS)

To be able to ensure the RAMS are relevant and easily understood.

On completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

 

• Have a broad understanding of the HASAWA, MHSAWA.

• How to carry out Hazard identification and complete a Risk Assessment.

• How to identify the different control measures and responsibilities.

• How to amplify RA information into a working method statement (RAMS)
