Guidelines for sending in samples

Samples for asbestos analysis must be delivered to the lab safely secured to prevent the accidental exposure of staff.  The requirements for bulk building materials and soils samples are as follows:

Bulk Building Materials – i.e. cement, insulation, board, tiles, gaskets, bitumen products

·                         Samples should be of a suitable size but ideally no greater than 5cm² and must not be a concrete cores samples due to the size and density of the material.

·                         Each sample must be double bagged in sealable bags

·                         All double bagged samples then placed into a larger sealable bag

·                         All sample bags must externally be clean and free of any dust/dirt

·                         Any site paperwork associated with the samples must be separate from the bagged samples
