TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

The following terms and conditions apply in respect of any use of the SOCOTEC UK Ltd website.

Website content:

The Website Information is provided “as is” and SOCOTEC UK Ltd (‘SOCOTEC’) make no representation, endorsement or warranty as to its accuracy. SOCOTEC  will not be liable for any action taken (or not taken) in reliance upon the Website Information and reserve the right to make any changes to the Website Information without notice and without liability. External websites to which hypertext links are provided are not under SOCOTEC control and no responsibility or liability whatsoever is taken for their content. SOCOTEC do not accept any responsibility for, or liability in respect of, any information which appears on its  website as a result of unauthorised actions by others.

Permitted Use:

Authorised users agree to protect the website from unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution by persons under their control.

Authorised users will notify SOCOTEC of any known or suspected unauthorised use including unauthorised use or theft of log-in or registration information.

SOCOTEC reserves the right to modify, add or remove content, features and functionality of products at its sole discretion.

Access to the service may be interrupted due to routine site maintenance or by actions beyond the control of SOCOTEC, such as acts of God and equipment failure.

Product and Liability:

SOCOTEC  will not be liable for any loss of any kind including lost profits or other consequential losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, the website content or from errors or deficiencies in any part of it except as expressly provided herein.

It remains the responsibility of the User to ensure that any course purchased from the  website is appropriate and complete in all respects for its intended purpose. SOCOTEC  gives no warranty that course material will be fit for its intended purpose.

No liability shall attach to SOCOTEC for loss or damage of any nature suffered as a result of the use of the website course or for any errors or omissions in the content of any forms or documents therein.

The User acknowledges that the information provided by SOCOTEC is not legal or other professional advice and SOCOTEC strongly advises that such advice be sought in all cases where such advice is thought necessary or appropriate, particularly in any circumstances where the User is in any way unsure about the legal aspects of a document or related matters.

Access:

When purchasing website courses, the User is purchasing access to the content for the period of time specified on the product page and, by placing an order, agrees to access the content within the specified timeframe from the date of the order.

Unless otherwise specified on the product page, access to courses is for 30 days from the date of order.

During the access period for courses, Users can complete the course and take the end of course test. On successful completion of the test, a course certificate can be downloaded and kept for as long as required. Course certificates should be renewed annually.

Access is usually immediate following an order (within 30 minutes). If the User has any problems accessing content after completing an order, please contact SOCOTEC for assistance. Where access is delayed, orders are usually processed within one working day; the access period will start from the time the payment is processed and continue until full access to the ordered content is achieved.

Copyright:

The entire content of the website and content purchased or downloaded are protected by copyright unless otherwise indicated. Full-scale copying of content is expressly prohibited. SOCOTEC copyright information must not be removed by the User who may not remove, delete, transmit or create derivative works from any of the content provided. All interfaces, look and feel, navigation schemes, designs and program features and function of the contents of the website and documents provided are the property of SOCOTEC  and may not be copied or reproduced or used in derivative works.

Refund and return policies:

Digital content purchase price is refundable within 2 days unless the course has been started by a User. If the User has trouble opening or reading the purchased course, please contact SOCOTEC for technical assistance. Screenshots and previews can be made available prior to purchase.

Law and Jurisdiction:

The course purchase agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute relating to the agreement shall fall within the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Legal obligations:

Access to the website and content of courses provided therein is offered without legal liability or responsibility on the part of the authors, the publishers, the distributor or anyone else involved in their production. Information is provided on the basis that no liability is accepted for the information given. In no circumstances whatsoever shall SOCOTEC be liable to the User for any direct, indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue or goodwill arising from use of courses or information on our website. Implied terms are deemed to be excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Privacy:

SOCOTEC take trust and privacy very seriously and therefore aim to process as little personal data as necessary. Personal data will not be provided to or shared with affiliates or third parties. Our full Privacy Policy should be consulted to ascertain more details.

Disclaimer:

Whilst the website has been compiled in good faith, SOCOTEC make no warranty or representation that the use of the courses’ website by authorised Users will be uninterrupted or error free or that the site or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or bugs. We, in conjunction with all web publishers, have no control over the Internet, which is a global public network of computers and is the method by which access to the courses’ website is achieved. As a consequence, in common with most web publishers, SOCOTEC take no responsibility for service interruption or the transmission of viruses or other malicious computer content through its website. However we do take security seriously and take all  reasonable steps to protect the security of the courses’ website.
