Hand Arm Vibration Awareness

Course Description 

This course is aimed at anyone who may during their works be subjected to hazardous vibrations through tool or work processes (HAVS)

The course will cover current legislation and the need to carry out pre planned work assessment for the process and or tools that will be used.

A practical calculation assessment will be included within the course to aid understanding.

How long is it

4 hours

Aims

To ensure delegates have a good understanding of when HAV`s occurs when a worker uses tools or equipment, or when they hold materials being processed through machinery, whole body vibration will also be included for plant operators.

How to identify the early onset of HAV symptoms.

Objectives

On completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

• Have a broad understanding of the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005

• How to carry out a HAV assessment and use the ready reckoner.

• How to identify high risk activities and how to choose the right equipment.

• How to identify common early symptoms for the onset of HAV related syndrome
